Zamy, a Taiwanese influencer, had worked hard to build up a wholesome reputable image. Yet, it was all going to come crashing down in the most nightmare-ish way possible.
One day, she woke up to being flooded with messages with people asking her “what are you doing this for? Do you not make enough money on YouTube?”
It was a “leaked” video of Zamy. She was engaging in sexual activity yet she didn’t remember anything about this encounter. But clearly, it happened because there was no denying that was her face. But the more she studied the video the more she realized a few small things were off. Her body didn’t look the same. She didn’t speak Japanese but in the video she did.
She was so confused. She had to dig further. What she found was terrifying. A group of thousands of men who were trading and purchasing deepfake p*rn videos of YouTubers and celebrities.
None of the people depicted consented for their faces to be used like this. And this was just the start of a nightmare.
